Explorers Reflect and Review17 January 2026 (by Beth Curtis (Beth)) |
An active week in Explorers.
This week has been a busy week with lots of wet weather. Beagle took part in a cricket session with Ollie, practicing our bowling skills.
In English this week, Beagle have continued the book th Matchbox diary, debating whether the family should leave Italy for America or not… we thought about why our own families have moved and investigated push and pull factors. Cook and Shackleton have continued to dive into “Windrush Child”, focusing this week on Leonard’s journey and arrival in England, whilst developing our use of subordinate clauses and semi-colons.
In maths, Beagle have been revisiting multiplication, looking at using multiples of 3 and 6 and applying our number fact knowledge independently. Shackleton have also been looking at multiplication, along with division, looking at methodology and problem solving. Cook have been looking at ratio this week, understanding why we use ratio and how it can be used.
In Spanish this term, we are learning terms for items of clothing, with this week understanding the different determiners used for each one whilst developing descriptions.
