Oceans reflect and review23 January 2026 (by Sereeta Raj-Singh (Sereeta)) |
Another busy week.
As writers, we continued reading our class text Arthur and the Golden Rope. The children have been exploring Norse mythology and rewrote their own versions of the Brave Raven myth, whilst focusing on using interesting descriptive detail and developing our vocabulary.
During Maths, we built on our learning of multiplication by introducing expanded multiplication. The children have been practising multiplying numbers up to three digits by one digit,, using formal written methods to solve calculations and explain their reasoning.
As historians, we continued our learning about the Anglo-Saxons. The children focused on who King Alfred the Great was and explored why he is remembered today, including his leadership, achievements, and lasting impact on education and law.
On Tuesday, Indian class took part in their cricket session, which was great fun. They worked well in teams, developed their communication skills, and continued to build on their hand-eye coordination through a range of batting and throwing activities.
Thank you to all the parents who attended Christ Church Cathedral for our concert. It was lovely to see you all there. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and did a fantastic job singing the songs — we are very proud of them.
Homework has been set for all classes. Please continue to encourage your child to complete their daily reading, as this plays a vital role in supporting progress across all areas of learning.
Have a lovely weekend.
