The Three Little Pigs
This week, our focus book has been The Three Little Pigs. We have read the story, watched the Disney cartoon, sung songs, built houses, and role-played the pigs and the wolf both indoors and outdoors.
Our medium-term planning on weather has been closely linked to The Three Little Pigs, exploring how different types of weather can affect the houses and the characters in the story. This has helped the children make meaningful links between stories, the world around them, and their learning.
We have continued with our daily phonics sessions, focusing on “tick and fix”, encouraging the children to think about the end product and learn from their mistakes.
Our golden rule this week has been We work hard, supported by the book The Very Busy Spider, which the children watched and really enjoyed.
Our end-of-day routine has also been enhanced with an Attention Autism session. The children have worked particularly hard on Stage 3, taking turns, and are now finding this much easier.
