    Wk4 Reflect and Review

    Robots, Lions and Explorers

This week in Language and Literacy, Aegean class has continued exploring the story; Robert the Robot. This has helped us to embed our understanding of similes and use them to improve our complex sentences. We have also been learning about consonants and vowels, and how this supports our understanding of when to use a or an correctly.

We also followed the children’s interests and took a short detour for a Big Write all about lions, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

In Maths, we have been amazing mathematicians and have learned another method to support our understanding of division. We are excited to share that some children have moved up in their Big Maths this week — well done!

During Topic, we have continued being explorers, using Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong to guide our learning. This week, the children worked in small groups to discuss and record how they might feel and what they might think if they were explorers away from home for many months. They really enjoyed working collaboratively and supporting one another.

Mulberry Bush also took us on a journey this week, with a blindfolded obstacle course in the classroom. Children practised using gentle touches on their peers’ hands to guide them safely and carefully in the right direction.

Swimming – Monday: Please ensure children wear appropriate shoes for the walk, as it is often wet.
