Reflect and Review Term 4 Wk312 March 2026 (by Sue Woodward (SueW)) |
A good listening week!
This week in Aegean, the children have finished their assessments and have been focusing on our Mulberry Bush learning skills, particularly speaking kindly and accepting other people’s points of view. We are really proud of how the children are learning to listen to each other and share their thoughts respectfully.
In Language and Literacy, we have been revising how to use a dictionary and reminding ourselves about the different roles within a story, including character, narrator, narrative and dialogue. The children enjoyed exploring how dialogue helps to show what characters are thinking and feeling.
In Maths, we have been working on word problems, encouraging the children to highlight the important information and then use the skills they already know to solve the problem. It has been lovely to see their confidence growing. One of the children said,
“The maths words aren’t as scary as they look!”
For Topic, we are still exploring Space, but this week we followed the children’s interest in the spring flowers we noticed outdoors during PDR time. We looked at the life cycle of a flower and learnt new vocabulary such as germination and photosynthesis. The children were very curious and asked some fantastic questions.
Reminder: Swimming is on Monday — please ensure children come dressed appropriately.
