Sea by Britta Teckentrup
The Maths Institute have shared information about the Oxford Maths Festival, a free event for children aged 4–13, taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May in North Oxford and Cowley Templar’s Square.
This week we have been reading The Sea by Britta Teckentrup. The children enjoyed learning about different sea animals, with lionfish and humpback whales becoming new favourites. We talked about habitats, the difference between day and night, and how we can care for our oceans by keeping them clean and looking after sea life.
Our Thought for the Week was Trying something new, linked to our value of courage. We talked about how being brave can mean having a go at new learning, new activities, or sharing our ideas, even when something feels tricky.
