This week in Aegean the children have continued to show a strong interest in the changes they can see around them, both in PDR and on their journeys to and from school. These observations have been a big topic of conversation during family and group time. The children have noticed signs of spring such as flowers beginning to grow, the days getting lighter, and the trees not having many leaves yet.

To build on this interest, we went on a spring walk around our local area. The children explored different environments including grass, flowers, trees and woodland areas. We then extended our walk to the local shops, where the children had the opportunity to learn about money and budgeting. Each child was given a small budget and chose a snack, thinking carefully about what they could afford.

On the way back to school, we stopped at the park for a short play after having an important discussion about safety in the community, including stranger danger and who can help us when we are out in public.
