Pod Reflect and Review17 April 2026 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
weekly review from the Pod New topic new term.
Welcome back and a big welcome to our new families.
This term's topic is ‘Go Wild’ the topic book is Dear Zoo. We have shared this picture book every day with children. We have been encouraging them to talk about the pictures and the story. Using the pictures as clues.
We have been strengthening our muscle development in our fingers through playdough activities and dough disco where we squeeze, poke, pinch and roll the playdough in between our fingers and hands.
By using the animals from the Dear Zoo story we have been extending our mathematical knowledge by using the language of size and weight ‘bigger/little/smaller’, ‘high/low’, ‘tall’, ‘heavy’. We have also been using prepositional language ‘on top, inside, in front, behind’.
Tracey and the health nurses team are offering a drop in session on Tuesday 19 May 8.10am for Toilet Training. Please let your child’s key person know if you would like to attend or would like more information.
Our book library is now ready for you to use. Please feel free to take a story bag and sign it out. These can be found in the Marines room (over 2’s) please ask if you need help.
School lunches: We would appreciate it if you can book meals in advance using MCAS. Where you will be able to pick the meal selection of your child. If you need a login or help please let us know. The new price is £3.34
For your information we are currently reviewing our catering suppliers to try to improve the pricing.
Have a fab weekend, see you all next week.
