    Reflect and Review

23 April 2026 (by Sue Woodward (SueW))

    Term 5 Week 2

This week in Aegean we continue to focus on Emotional literacy skills as part of our Language and Literacy. The children have looked at ways they can communicate their worries, we've practised this through speech using our oracy skills to make complex sentences using because . Other children preferred to use a worry jar to keep their worries in allowing them to move on. In maths we continue learning time , we've played time games, practised turn taking and listening to others as well as starting to recognise quarter past and quarter to the hour.
Topic has been a BIG hit this week. The children are hooked on the Greek Gods and Goddesses, fascinated by how they gave birth from their four heads and that one god had a 3 headed dog. Some children made constructive  links of the names of the gods and goddesses to names that are familiar to them in games they have access to at home.
The children have practice note taking before creating a god or Goddess of their own or one that is familiar to them, considering what their name is, power and skill may be. We will use all these notes and information to create a big write .
Swimming Monday , please dress according to the weather with appropriate footwear.
    Thanks
