This week the Moorhens have continued with our work on building a growth mindset. We started the week by thinking about adverts and how advertising can affect our choices. The children started by looking at diffent wrappers - a chocolate bar, chocolate cake in a plain wrapper and home made brownies in a container. We thought abpout why companies spend so much time and monety on advertising and how this makes us more interested.

The children sahred their thoughts in our Oracy session as we talked about which choice was most inviting and how packaging helps us to make a choice. This led to discussions around will power. We then followed this on by making our own chocolate wrppers and a tasting activity, Yum!

Our science investiogations were amazing! The children used water, oil and food colouring to discover the impact they have on each other. We watched the colours seperate and then mixed them to test our predictions. It was all very exciting!

We have also been busy with cooking as we developed our mathematical skills and language around quantity, measurement and percentage. Our apple pies were delicious! next week we are focused on fruit and vegetables and how our choices around food can impact our health.
