The Pod weekly reflect and review

    22 May 2026 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

Another busy week in the Pod.

This week, the children have explored lots of different sensory materials. The shaving foam was smooth, smelt lovely, and flew into the air when they clapped their hands together. The salt in the tuff tray created great patterns, although it didn’t taste very nice! The oats and lentils were easy to scoop and pour using the little spoons and bowls. The bubbles were exciting to dance with, pop, and splash around in the water tray.

We have also been using the parachute outside to play lots of turn-taking and cooperative games, alongside ball games and taking turns on the scooters and bikes.

We have now closed our topic of Dear Zoo, where we explored lots of different wild animals and compared their sizes, colours, and habitats.

Next term, we are going on a train ride. I wonder where we will end up and who we might encounter?

We look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 1st June. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice for the holidays and that the children return with sun hats and sun cream.

This will be the last time we use School Jotter, as over the holidays we will be moving to our new website and platform, Juniper.

    Dates for your diaries

    • Family Teddy Bears’ Picnic – Thursday 9th July from 11:15am onwards. Come and join your child for our annual picnic. If this is not a day your child usually attends, please still feel free to come along and join us.
    • Pirate Day – Wednesday 24th June. We look forward to seeing lots of children dressed up as pirates!

We hope you all have a great half term The Pod team.
