This week in Islands we have been exploring having our own ideas and developing these through Spiral Art. First we explored how we could move our fingers, wrists, elbows and whole arms to make spirals on the playground. We then deepened these ideas by using smaller movements on paper with oil pastels, chalk and wax crayons. Lastly we used very small movements to collage spirals using a wide range of materials. The children were amazed at how different their completed work was by having their own ideas. 

Next week we will be focusing on being safe online through different search engines. Children will have the opportunity to use the internet to develop their understanding of how to stay safe. Please talk to your children about what they watch and what games they are playing online… Are they age appropriate?
