Islands Weekly Reflect and Review28 April 2023 (by Lauren Arbour (Lauren)) |
Another fantastic week of exploring amazing places and spaces, in this case, Florence Park. The children could not believe how many different bridges were in Florence Park.
The children thought about what the purpose of a bridge was and why they were made of different materials. We thought about the bridges that we cross on our way to school or during the weekend. The children were able to talk about the being over roads, train tracks, rivers and streams.
The children have began to plan what type of bridge they might like to make as we continue our journey in design and technology.
We have had a busy week, working on our school song with John and his team of musicians. We cannot wait to showcase the final piece at the end of this term. Can your child remember the words and sing the song to you?
Next week we will continue to explore bridges, particularly the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Tower Bridge and Tyne Bridge. Have you ever visited one of these physical landmarks in the United Kingdom?
