Islands Weekly Reflect and Review6 May 2023 (by Lauren Arbour (Lauren)) |
Another amazing week in Islands.
This week we have continued to explore some fantastic bridges, some built over one hundred years ago, some even earlier. We have applied our knowledge of solid structures to draw sketches of our own bridge, showing how our bridges will be constructed and started to make the first prototype of our solid structure.
At the beginning of next week we will test our design and then re-think our design decisions by applying our technical and practical knowledge of structures. We will modify our designs and rebuild our final bridge structure at the end of the week.
We will also begin to research some amazing locations such as: the beautiful beaches and coastlines of the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, mountains such as Ben Nevis in Scotland and Snowdon in Wales, St. Michael’s Mount in Cornwall, Stonehenge in Wiltshire and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.
If you have explored any of the locations or any other amazing places in and around the United Kingdom, please send in pictures or share your experiences via our islands email.
Have a lovely long weekend!
