Islands Weekly Reflect and Review19 May 2023 (by Lauren Arbour (Lauren)) |
This week Islands have truly conquered their role in restoring the castle ruins. What a week to be a historian.
The children have embraced every aspect of what it takes to rebuild, rethink, remake and remodel an old castle and the outcome has been outstanding. They were aware of how important it was to repair the castle, rather than tearing it down and rebuilding it. They made improvements but kept the history alive, sharing their ideas and working collaboratively to reach an end goal.
We have also been scientists investigating what was the best material to make a tea bag, how solids and liquids impact the mass of an object and lastly, what the most appropriate shoes to wear in different weathers.
This week has been super packed and the children have worked incredibly hard as historians and scientists.
Next week will be our RE block week where we will be asking the question- are some stories more important than others? We will be exploring some stories from the Old Testament. If you or your family have any particular favourites that you would like to share, please send them in.
Have a happy weekend!
