Islands Weekly Reflect and Review9 March 2024 (by Lauren Arbour (Lauren)) |
This week the children continued to explore wheels, axles and chassis’. They designed and made their own wind-powered mail car, with the purpose of carrying mail without using any fuel and supporting people who want to cut down on harmful gases.
The children could not wait to bring their cars home today! If your child did not bring theirs today, it will come home on Monday. Please encourage your child to share the process with them and ask them what their evaluation of their design was. We talked about this in class and many children were keen to modify their current design…
Next week is a big week for Islands as it is our trip to the London Postal Museum. On Monday and Tuesday we will be preparing for our trip by sharing our pictures and videos from our last Islands visit. We will also be talking about safety rules and making sure all children feel ready for their adventure on Wednesday.
Wednesday 13th March - Postal Museum in London- all children need to arrive at school at 7:00 am ready to depart at 7:15am and will be back at school between 5:00-5:30 which will be updated on the school jotter on the day. We are unable to wait for any late children, so if your child is not at school on time, unfortunately the coach will depart without them.
