Islands Weekly Reflect and Review5 July 2024 (by Lauren Arbour (Lauren)) |
Another great week!
This week as designers we mastered practical skills by making portable snacks for our Royal Celebration party. As designers we took inspiration from existing products and thought about a product’s purpose, its users and how it is designed. We cut, peeled and grated ingredients safely and hygienically. Island’s children know how to party! We had an amazing celebration party with food, drinks, patriotic clothing and fun.
Next week will be our last week together as our current year 1 and 2 cohort, all current year 2 children will finish their time in Islands on Friday 12th July. All children will transition into their new classes with their new class teachers on Monday 15th July where they will spend the last week of term settling in their new classes. This will support them to enjoy their Summer break with no worries about the unknown and come back in September already settled.
Please ensure all children bring a bag in next week to collect their belongings and bring them home. Can we ask that ALL phonics books/library books are handed in so that we have time to check and prepare ready for the next school year.
Have a great weekend,
Islands team.
