The children have observed and recorded what has happened daily- starting with the eggs in the incubator on Monday. On Tuesday we started to see cracks appearing in the eggs, the children patiently waited for the chicks to start hatching… On Wednesday morning when the children arrived, they witnessed the chicks hatching and could not believe they waited for them to arrive before hatching! On Thursday all chicks had hatched and were moved into their home for the week. 

The children have spent today handling the chicks and creating happy runs for them to explore. Some children in year 2 have made adventure playgrounds for the chicks, using junk modelling and other resources around the classroom. 

As artists this week, we have explored all things SPIRALS! We have used various different materials to create spiral art. In our plan and do provision time, the children used materials and resources around the classroom to make spirals. 

Next week we will continue to enjoy the process of our chicks hatching - observing life cycles, how they have changed and what it takes to care for animals and humans. 

Key Information:

All children should have received a trip letter. They are all very excited about our trip to the farm, especially as they continue to deepen their knowledge in farming and agriculture. 

Your child will either attend on Monday 14th October or Tuesday 15th October. - If you are able to attend this trip to support your child and the class, please let Lauren know. 

The cost for the trip and pantomime is £27 per child.  Whilst this is a voluntary payment, if we do not receive sufficient funds to cover the costs we may have to cancel the trip.
