In Beth's Maths group we have been focusing on fact families. This is where we use one fact that we know and find 3 others by switching the numbers around.
Here we are using Cuisinaire blocks to explore how the fact families work. We knew that the Purple and Green blocks together were the same length as the Orange one so P + G = O. We thought about the fact that the Orange must be the biggest number and so where that needs to be in our questions whilst the Purple and Green could be swapped around.
